ေန႔စဥ္သံုး အီဒီယမ္မ်ား အပိုင္း -

to hang up : ခ်ိတ္ဆြြဲသည္။

-       He hang up his coat in the closet.

သူ႔ ကုတ္အက်ႌကို ဗီ႐ိုထဲမွာ ခ်ိတ္လိုက္တယ္။

to leave out : ခ်န္ထားသည္။

-       Why did you leave out the second question on your examination?

မင္း စာေမးပြဲမွာ ဒုတိယေမးခြန္းကို ဘာေၾကာင့္ ခ်န္ထားခဲ့တာလဲ

-       You have left out Helen’s name on this list.

မင္း ဟယ္လင့္ နာမည္ကို စာရင္းမွာ ခ်န္ထားခဲ့ၿပီ။

to count on : မူတည္သည္။

-       We are counting on you to help us with this.

ဒီကိစၥအတြက္ ကၽြန္ေတာ္တို႔ကို ကူညီဖို႔ သူအေပၚမွာပဲ မူတည္ေနတယ္။

-       Don’t count on John to lend you any money because he has none.

ဂၽြန္ဆီက ပိုက္ဆံခ်ည္းဖို႔ေတာ့ အားမကိုးနဲ႔ သူ႔မွာကို တစ္ျပားမွ မရွိဘူး။

to make friends : မိတ္ေဆြဖြဲ႔သည္။

-       Helen is a very shy girl and doesn’t make friends easily.

ဟယ္လင္က အရမ္းရွက္တတ္ေတာ့ လြယ္လြယ္ မိတ္ေဆြဖြဲ႕လို႔ မရဘူး။

-       During the trip William made friends with every one on the boat.

ခရီးစဥ္တစ္ေလွ်ာက္ ဝီလီယမ္က ေလွေပၚမွာရွိတဲ့လူေတြနဲ႔ မိတ္ေဆြဖြဲ႕ခဲ့တယ္။

out of order : (စက္၊ ပစၥည္း ကိရိယာ စသည္မ်ား) ပ်က္သည္။

-       The elevator was out of order and we had to walk to the tenth floor.

ဓါတ္ေလွကားက ပ်က္ေနလို႔ ကၽြန္ေတာ္တို႔ (၁ဝ) ထပ္ကို လမ္းေလွ်ာက္ တက္ရမယ္။

-       We could not use the telephone because it was out of order.

တယ္လီဖံုးပ်က္ေနလို႔ သံုးလို႔မရဘူး။

to get to a place : ေရာက္သည္။

-       I missed the bus and didn’t get to the office until ten o’ clock.

ကားလြတ္သြားလို႔ (၁ဝ) နာရီထိုးေတာင္ ႐ံုးကို မေရာက္ေလာက္ေတာ့ဘူး။

-       This train gets to Mandalay at ten o’ clock.

ဒီရထားက မႏၱေလးကို (၁ဝ) နာရီေရာက္တယ္။

at times : တစ္ခါတစ္ရံ၊ အခါအားေလ်ာ္စြာ။

-       At times he does much better work.

တစ္ခါတစ္ေလေတာ့ သူအလုပ္ကို ေကာင္းေကာင္းလုပ္တယ္။

to look over : စစ္ေဆးသည္။

-       I want to look over these exercises before I give them to the teacher.

ဒီသင္ခန္းစာေတြကို ဆရာကို မျပခင္ ကၽြန္ေတာ္ စစ္ခ်င္ေသးတယ္။

-       He signed the contract without looking it over.

သူက ဘာမွမစစ္ဘဲ စာခ်ဳပ္မွာ လက္မွတ္ထိုးလိုက္တယ္။

to have time off : အလုပ္မလုပ္ဘဲ နားသည္၊ အားသည္။

-       He works only five days a week and has every Saturday and Sunday off.

သူက တစ္ပတ္မွာ (၅) ရက္ပဲ အလုပ္လုပ္ၿပီး စေန၊ တနဂၤေႏြမွာ နားတယ္။

-       I except to have the whole summer off.

တစ္ေႏြလံုး အားဖို႔ ကၽြန္ေတာ္ ေမွ်ာ္လင့္တယ္။

to keep on : ဆက္လုပ္သည္။

-       John kept on talking although the teacher asked him several times to stop.

ဆရာက ရပ္ေတာ့လို႔ အႀကိမ္ႀကိမ္ ေျပာေပမဲ့ ဂၽြန္ကေတာ့ ဆက္ေျပာေနတာပဲ။

-       They kept on playing their radio until three o’ clock in the morning.

မနက္ခင္း (၃) နာရီေလာက္ထိ ေရဒီယိုကို သူတို႔ ဖြင့္ထားၾကတယ္။

to put out : မီးၿငိမ္းသတ္သည္။

-       You can put out your cigarette in that ashtray.

မင္း ဒီေဆးလိပ္ျပာခြက္မွာ စီးကရက္မီး ၿငိမ္းလို႔ ရတယ္။

-       The firefighters put out the fire in a few minutes.

မီးသတ္သမားေတြက ခဏေလးအတြင္းမွာ မီးကို ၿငိမ္းသတ္လိုက္တယ္။

all of a sudden : ႐ုတ္တရက္

-       All of a sudden John appeared at the door.

ဂၽြန္က ႐ုတ္တရက္ တံခါးနားက ေပၚလာတယ္။

-       All of a sudden she got up left the house without a word.

အိပ္ရာက ထၿပီးေတာ့ ဘာမေျပာညာမေျပာနဲ႔ ႐ုတ္တရက္ အိမ္ထဲက ထြက္သြားတယ္။
